Drop Traps: Beginning & Advanced
Led by the team at Neighborhood Cats—co-designers of the first commercially available drop trap—this workshop focuses on how and when to use a drop trap to solve some of the most challenging trapping scenarios in TNR work. From elusive “last cats” to entire families of kittens, this session shows how the right tool, used correctly, can dramatically increase trapping success.
Designed for trappers who want to expand their skill set, this workshop combines instruction, real-world examples, and advanced tips to help you use drop traps safely, effectively, and with confidence.
What You’ll Learn
When and Why to Use a Drop Trap
Learn how drop traps can solve situations that box traps often can’t—such as trapping trap-savvy feral cats, catching the final unsterilized cat in a colony, or safely capturing a mother cat and her kittens together.
Drop Trap Setup, Technique & Advanced Tips
Explore proper setup, timing, and technique to ensure humane, successful captures. This section also covers tips and tricks for experienced trappers looking to refine their approach and troubleshoot common challenges in the field.
Valuable Resources & Certification
Take advantage of the interactive format and live Q&A, extensive handouts, and real-life video footage from actual projects. Attendees will receive a digital certificate after passing a brief quiz and access to a dedicated Facebook group for ongoing networking with fellow TNR advocates.
