How to Build a TNR Movement Certification Workshop
Led by the team behind New York City’s groundbreaking community TNR program, this workshop offers practical strategies for mobilizing the public to help manage free-roaming cats. You’ll learn how to train and support new trappers, attract volunteers, and build community buy-in—essential skills for any area facing more cats than hands to help.
What You’ll Learn
Building Community Capacity for TNR
Learn how to mobilize the public to trap the cats in their own backyards, recruit and support new volunteers, and create a community-driven approach to managing free-roaming cat populations. We’ll cover how to train the public effectively, provide the services people need to participate, and set up systems to track progress and measure success.
Outreach, Support Services & Public Engagement
Explore practical strategies for generating community buy-in, from gaining publicity and increasing visibility to offering hands-on support that keeps volunteers engaged, and learn how to build networks that sustain long-term TNR efforts.
Valuable Resources & Certification
Take advantage of the interactive format and live Q&A, extensive handouts, and real-life video footage from actual projects. Attendees will receive a digital certificate after passing a brief quiz and access to a dedicated Facebook group for ongoing networking with fellow TNR advocates. Plus the live course recording will be available for you to review for one year.
