Bring HQHVSN To Life: Spay/Neuter Training for Vets
Join United Spay Alliance for a behind-the-scenes look at our growing spay/neuter training program, designed to expand surgical skills and build local capacity through hands-on exposure to high-quality, high-volume spay/neuter (HQHVSN) techniques.
HQHVSN isn’t about speed – it’s about maximizing efficiency for the best possible outcomes: smaller incisions, shorter surgical time, faster recovery, and fewer complications. These techniques help veterinarians build confidence, increase efficiency, and ultimately perform more surgeries, whether in shelters, clinics, or private practice. Even if it means just a few more each week, every bit helps.

Cats of Lahaina: Coordinating the Unprecedented Post-Wildfire Rescue
In the summer of 2023, a wildfire sparked by a fallen power line devastated the historic town of Lahaina in Maui, Hawaii, leaving behind miles of destruction and hundreds of surviving cats, many of them community cats. Join leaders from the wildfire response, including animal welfare professionals from Maui Humane Society, UC Davis Koret Shelter Medicine Program, and Neighborhood Cats, as they share how they rescued cats from the disaster and worked toward live outcomes for every survivor, feral or not.
This course will prepare you and your organization to plan for wildfire or other disaster response for cats, including shelter-in-place strategies, post-rescue assessment and care, housing displaced cats, reunification efforts, and pathways to safe and humane outcomes.
