When Fix Georgia Pets and Be Paws We Care brought together seven rescue organizations, four veterinary teams, and volunteers from across the Southeast for a four-day TNR blitz in Pickens County, Georgia, the results spoke for themselves: 172 surgeries, 23 pregnant cats, and countless futures changed.

As 2025 comes to a close, I’m taking a moment to reflect on where we’ve been, where we’re going, and the power of leadership in the community cat world. After over 30 years of working in cat welfare—and nearly a decade hosting the Community Cats Podcast—I’m incredibly proud of how far we’ve come. But we’re not done yet.
